Temasek Regatta 2012

Description: The grand finale of the Temasek Polytechnic freshmen orientation 2012 was the regatta held at the Bedok Reservoir. Comprising seven official races, which included the freshmen, juniors/seniors, alumni and staff categories, the regatta is a must-attend for everyone who is part of the TP family. Senior management staff, including Principal & CEO Mr Boo Kheng Hua, were present to cheer on all teams participating in the dragon boat races. The overall championship went to the School of Business, the School of Applied Science won the best cheer team award, and the School of Design won the best-spirited school award.

Temasek Regatta 2019

Description: The Temasek Regatta 2019 kicked off on 11 April, 2019 when about 5000 new students from the polytechnic's 6 academic schools congregate at the Bedok Reservoir Park to compete in a series of dragon boat rowing events, a cheer-dance competition, a mascot competition, as well as cheering contests. The regatta was the grand finale of the Temasek Polytechnic freshmen orientation. Senior management staff including Principal & CEO, Mr Peter Lam were present at the regatta to cheer on all teams who participated in the dragon boat races.

Bandannas Day : bandanna

Description: Temasek Polytechnic's first Bandannas Day, a fund raising drive was held on 6 July 1998. The yellow bandannas was sold at $5 apiece during the Orientation finale and the proceeds from the sale went to four charitable organisations: the Singapore Association for the Deaf, the Handicap Welfare Association, the Singapore Association for the Visually Handicapped, and the Spastic Children's Association of Singapore

Inaugural Temasek Regatta

Description: The inaugural Temasek Regatta or Dragon Boat Competition was held on 20 May 2005 at the Bedok Reservoir. It was also the grand finale of the Week Zero Orientation. About 15 secondary schools signed up to compete in the invitational schools' competition in the morning, while TP staff and students competed in the late afternoon. Senior management staff, including Principal & CEO Mr Boo Kheng Hua, also participated in the race.

Freshmen Orientation Camp 1991

Description: The Students' Union took over the organisation of the orientation for new students in June 1991. They organised a residential camp which was attended by about 140 students. For the day activities, the average attendance per day was between 250 and 300 students.

Description: After a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the Freshmen Orientation Programme (FOP) activities returned in full physical form in April 2023. Organized by the Student Development & Alumni Affairs (SDAA), the FOP plays a crucial role in helping freshmen to adapt to the new school environment through various activities and programmes. Tibs great bendy bus squeeze: Guinness world record

Description: On 6 July 1998, a Guinness world record was set when 438 Temasek Polytechnic students squeezed into a Trans-Island (Tibs) bendy bus. The record-breaking event was a grand finale to a week-long orientation programme. Tibs bought a bandanna at $5 for every student that squeezed into the bus. Proceeds from the Bandanna sale went to four Singapore welfare organisations - Singapore Association for the Deaf, the Handicap Welfare Association, the Singapore Association for the Visually Handicapped and the Spastic Children's Association of Singapore.

Week Zero Orientation Camp

Description: TP's Week Zero Orientation Camp was the biggest of all the orientations -- the time when freshies from all six schools come together. Each school held many activities, from stay-in camps to campus tours, large-scale games, and even a tug-of-war between students and staff. The Camp orientates students within their school, providing an in-depth insight into their school and bonding the freshmen at the School level. The Week-Zero Camp is organized by the respective Studies Club of each School. The various school orientation programmes took place from 15-19 April 2013, ending with the annual Regatta on the last day. Freshmen from the School of Design had a wonderful time participating in the numerous activities organised by their Studies Club.

Temasek Business School freshmen orientation 2010

Description: Temasek Business School freshmen orientation was held on 15 April 2010 at the Temasek Convention Centre. Mr Daniel Yeow, Director, Temasek Business School addressed the freshmen, followed by performances from the Salvo Drums and Dance Ensemble and the singing of TP anthem by freshmen and staff. To bond the freshmen at school level, everyone including the Business School lecturers gathered at Temasek Polytechnic Sports Complex and with much creativity and teamwork, successfully formed the numeral "20" to commemorate TP's 20th anniversary.

Week Zero Orientation: The Final Clash 2001

Description: On 29 June 2001, Week Zero Orientation for Freshmen ended with a big bang at the Final Clash 2001. First year students from the five Schools get acquainted with each other while having fun in games such as Save the Bomb, Hey My Balloon, Dress Me Up, Final Battle and Let Me Cross. All five Schools also pitted against each other in the telematch and cheerleading competitions. Temasek Engineering School emerged as the Games Champion.

Float competition

Description: School of Engineering organised a float competition as part of the Freshmen Orientation 1998. Freshmen were given 2 days to design and fabricate their floats based on the themes, "Singapore My Home" or "Technology 2000". They were given only a one-metre wooden pole and a ball of raffia string to start with. Students demonstrated their resourcefulness and creativity by using mainly recycled materials or discarded items to build their floats.

Freshmen Orientation Grand Finale 2000

Description: The highlight of TP's Week Zero Orientation Camp 2000 was the traditional "Final Clash", which would see students from the four Schools competing against each other in the telematch and cheerleading competition. Temasek Engineering School emerged as the winner for this year. Over 4000 freshmen sold cute little teddy bears by Sasha Bear Company at various locations around Singapore to raise funds for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), National Kidney Foundation's Children's Kidney Transplant Centre, and TP's Campus Care Network. BG George Yeo, Minister for Trade and Industry, was the Guest-of-Honour for the orientation finale held at the Triangular Garden on 30 June 2000. Five confetti canons were fired, and two students abseiled down from the sixth-storey corridor accompanied by fireworks to welcome him.

School of Engineering Orientation Programme

Description: About 1,042 students and staff from the School of Engineering joined hands at Kim Seng Campus to set a world record for the longest human chain. The human chain snaked through the corridors of the campus buildings and the carparks. The activity was part of the School's three-day orientation programme from 4 to 6 July 1994.
